Los Angeles has equally extensive venues for theatrical, sporting and cinema events.  The major sport teams are based in the nearby Anaheim, and Angel stadium hosts state and international games, featuring such teams as Anaheim Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Mighty Ducks and other sport fans favourites. The city boasts having won the right to host Olympics twice: in 1934 and 1989. Its unique sport complexes meet the highest world standards.

Among admirable cultural venues are Ahmanson Theatre, Shrine Auditorium, Wiltern theatre. Being the centre of world’s swirling cultural life, the city receives the most celebrated and glamour performances, among which are hit musicals, going with unabated popularity for years on the world’s best stages. Among them grandiose classical performances and eclectic mix of modern arthouse shows.

The city is frequented by pop and rock singers, who include it in almost every tour list. The upcoming concerts include Norah Jones, The Police, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Roger Waters, Genesis. The nearby Indio oasis is the home to the famous Coachella music festival, this year expecting Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers and other popular singers. Caribbean Seabreeze Festival along the golden coasts of Long Beach is an event, where one can plunge into enticing Jamaican and Caribbean tunes, and Lotus Festival celebrates Asian and Pacific culture. The American Idol Live concert at Disney Hall is dedicated to the popular music award.

And maybe the most infatuating thing of it all is that Los Angeles is the home of Hollywood Empire, and flocks of fans go there to stay in the stars’ footsteps, to breathe the same air with celebrities and, if fortunate, glimpse at them in trendy bars or clubs. Many goes there in hope to spot just another star party, and some even succeed.

LA features such a variety of events every week that it is impossible to visit even half of them, but it is worth trying to see the best.
