The main part of guests arrives through the Los Angeles Airport. It is the world’s fifth-busiest airport by passenger traffic and sixth-busiest by cargo traffic. It serves 87 domestic and 69 international destinations in all the continents. It has 9 passenger terminals, arranged in U-shape and served by a shuttle bus, called FlyAway Bus, and extensive cargo facilities. The airport is situated 30 km southwest from the Downtown LA. In the LAX transit center the guests can take the city bus. Shuttle buses also go the Metro Green Line Aviation station. Private shuttlew buses can transport the visitors to their hotel.

If there is a possibility, it would be more convenient to arrive at one of the domestic airports: Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport (BUR) is about 25km (15mi) northwest of Downtown, Long Beach Airport (LGB) is about 40km (25mi) south, John Wayne Airport (SNA) is about 65km (40mi) southeast in Santa Ana, Orange County, and Ontario International Airport (ONT) is about 65km (40mi) east.

The city is one of the major knots in passenger and cargo railway network. Amtrak, the national rail system, operates up and down the California coast. In Los Angeles, trains arrive and depart from Union Station, an impressive art deco depot one block from El Pueblo in Downtown LA. From Seattle and San Francisco, the Coast Starlight operates several times weekly in each direction.

Greyhound bus lines, the only national bus company, serve LA from cities all over North America. The main LA depot is to the east of Downtown, south of Little Tokyo. Other LA-area stations are found in Hollywood, Santa Monica and Anaheim. An alternative to Greyhound for West Coast travellers is Green Tortoise Adventure Travel, serving West Coast region and several other destinations.  Buses stop at several LA-area destinations.

The city is located in the centre of highways and byways network, and its very layout is adjusted rather to personal transport than to public one or pedestrians. Taxis are the best way to cover short distances; there are 9 taxi companies in the city. Taxis have Taxicab Seal and are insured. The drivers have a good command of city map and are regularly inspected and trained.
