Los Angeles offers plenty of opportunities for those, who enjoy spectator sports and those who practice various health activities. Dodger Stadium, north of Downtown, is the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, with seasons running April-October. Staples Center, is a newly-built sports and entertainment arena, hosting two basketball teams, LA Lakers and LA Clippers. The winter sport season lasts October-April and features ice hockey team, LA Kings.

LA has not had a resident National Football League team since 1995, so invites numerous star teams from other states. The Rosebowl Stadium, historic home for the bowling, extremely popular within the UCLA campus, is the venue for guest teams as well as college football tournament. The soccer team, LA Galaxy, plays at the Home Depot Center.

There are plenty of opportunities for those, who are not satisfied with the role of a passive fan and want to practice various sports activities. Santa Anita Park, located 23 km north from downtown, is the city’s historic and most popular horseracing center. Extreme sports include bicycling, auto racing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, spectacular motor shows.
